Apple, AT&T, get your act together you guys are supposed to be the cream of the crop….

Apple and AT&T are messing with my mind. Why? I have a couple of theories. Money and incompetence. Apple offers the OS 3.0 upgrade from within iTunes for my existing iPhone 3G (great). However, after downloading this update, the Apple server used to activate the OS 3.0 software was unavailable (what). Why offer the update if you cannot close the deal? Well, I am supposed to get my 3G S on 06/19/09, so I guess I will have to wait until then to play with the new OS 3.0. I am going to be that eventually, I will sync and the OS 3.0 will be activated, that is typically how things work with Apple, very mystical.
This leads me to the second part of my quest to obtain the new iPhone 3G S. AT&T charged me up the whazoo, although I have been a loyal sucker and continue to pay through the nose for phones I want (yea sounds selfish and self serving). Any how, I desired the new iPhone and purchased it through the Apple Online Store for $499.00 (wow is Mrs. CrazyMike going to be pissed). Then a few minutes ago I am minding my own business and I get an email telling me I will be getting a $200.00 refund for my original iPhone 3G S purchase. AT&T must have felt the heat and felt the low upgrades to have abruptly change their business plan. I don’t really care, I am getting $200 back (Mrs. CrazyMike can’t complain now). This is a nice bit of information, but what about the drama surrounding the whole iPhone 3G S rollout, I guess it makes for good sales, but Apple, AT&T, please, please, next roll out save us the drama, it is getting old. To Our Valued Apple Customer:
On June 17, AT&T announced a change to their upgrade eligibility policy
and ‘best upgrade pricing’ for qualifying iPhone 3G owners.
Based on AT&T’s updated qualification criteria, we are pleased to inform
you that you are eligible to receive a refund on your recent
iPhone 3G S purchase.
Your Order Acknowledgment and Shipment Notification emails will reflect
the original purchase price. However, Apple will issue you a refund in
the amount of $200.00, which is the difference between your original
purchase price and the new qualifying price.
Apple will process your refund in the next 5 days, and will send you an
email when this has been completed. We will process your refund based
on your original payment method. See below for details.
No additional action is needed on your part for you to receive the
refund. These activities will not impact your estimated delivery dates.
