FirstWords: Animals iPhone App Review | iPhone Teaches Kids, Awesome!

Learning is changing one iPhone app at a time. A prime example of this is FirstWords: Animals iPhone/iTouch app developed by Learning Touch. This app is simple and complete and does exactly what the title says, teaches first animal words. I lament about this with each new children’s learning app, that I wish the iPhone and these apps existed when my kids were little. Alas, no more but for those of you who have little kids you should look this app over.

FirstWords: Animals is one in a series of learning apps categorized as games in the iTunes App Store, but actually more of a learning app. The app user interface is designed to be used by kids in the fact there are not a lot of options to get confused by. I found this to be awesome since my attention span is about as long as flea. There is a translucent arrow in the upper right than can toggle the app to the next animal and another translucent button on the upper left for the information/settings tab. The app is simple and opens up to a colorful representation of an animal with the letters that correspond to the animals name. The child or adult drags and drops the letter to the correct location of the template and once done a vibrant exclamation of the animals name sounds as well as the animal dramatically moves.

FirstWords: Animals is a very nice children’s animal/spelling app that won’t disappoint. This app costs $1.99 and receives 5 out of 5 CrazyMikesapps Head’s for hitting the mark. CM
