Flip Disc may drive you crazy!

The developers at Chillingo continue to pump out high quality games with the release of Flip Disc. Puzzle games, puzzle games, puzzle games, jeesh you would think there are enough of these game in the iTunes App Store. However, the beautiful thing about puzzle games is they are only limited in number by the limits of a developers mind. Now that is a scary statement, but the point is the puzzle game offering is endless due to the awesome creativity of many iPhone developers. Flip Disc is an example of a puzzle game with a twist (bad pun) if you are familiar with this game. The game is laid out in 5 circular rows in which each row rotates in a complete circle (360 degrees). There are 8 points where different colored disc enter into the circular rows pushing themselves to the farthest row, or the 5th row. The object of the game is to line up 5 discs of the same color and then those discs disappear giving you points. If you do not free up your rows from the ever piling up discs then you may suffer defeat. The way you complete the 5 colored discs in a row is by using the circular movement ability for each row. You have two buttons that move you in between circular rows and a button you use to rotate which ever circular row you choose. To understand the game play better take a look at the pictures in this review. There is a bar on the bottom of the screen that monitors your disc flow and this bar informs you of impending danger. If you do not complete a certain amount of same colored discs then the discs begin to pile up at the points where they come out. This causes the bar to go from green to red and you will quickly lose your game when this happens. I had a slight learning curve to determine the exact method of game play for Flip Disc even after reading the instructions. I lost several games quickly due to the lack of logic it took to solve this action puzzle. I eventually rebounded and quickly shot up to level 3 in one spectacular game. The cliche of saying this game is addictive is not a cliche, but rather a truth. This is a low scoring game that keeps track of lines completed (5 of the same colored disc is one line). There are only two options in this game, which are the ability to change the music and sound effects volume. This game is extremely fun and challenges you to think and make movements at the same time. This game is on sale in the iTunes App Store for $.99. This game is a huge value for the price paid. CM
